Zero Data Collection
Nomu does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. Everything stays on your device.
1. Introduction
Welcome to Nomu, an intermittent fasting timer application developed by Tappect. Your privacy is fundamentally important to us, and we have designed Nomu to respect it completely.
This privacy policy explains how Nomu ("we", "our", or "the app") handles your information. The short version: we don't collect any.
Nomu is a free application operated by Tappect, available on iOS. This policy applies to all users of the Nomu application.
2. Data We Do NOT Collect
Nomu is designed with a privacy-first philosophy. We do not collect:
- Personal information (name, email, phone number, address)
- Account or login credentials (there are no accounts)
- Health or biometric data
- Location data
- Device identifiers or advertising IDs
- Usage analytics or behavioral tracking
- Crash reports or diagnostics sent to our servers
- Any data transmitted over the internet
100% Offline: Nomu operates entirely on your device. It does not connect to any servers, APIs, or cloud services. There is no network activity initiated by the app.
3. Data Stored Locally on Your Device
Nomu stores all of your data locally on your device using a SQLite database. This data never leaves your device and includes:
- Fasting timer history and current session data
- Water intake logs
- Mood check-in entries
- Weight tracking entries
- App preferences and settings (dark mode, notifications, fasting plan)
- Achievement and streak progress
- Nomu mascot evolution state
This data is stored within the app's sandboxed storage area on your device, meaning no other apps can access it.
4. Permissions
Nomu requests only one optional permission:
Notifications (Optional)
If you enable fasting reminders, Nomu will request permission to send local notifications. These notifications are generated entirely on your device and are not sent through any external push notification service. You can disable notifications at any time in the app settings or your device settings.
Nomu does not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, location, health data, photos, or any other device capabilities.
5. No Third-Party Services
Nomu does not integrate with any third-party services, including:
- No analytics platforms (no Google Analytics, Firebase, Mixpanel, etc.)
- No advertising networks or ad SDKs
- No crash reporting services
- No social media SDKs
- No cloud storage or sync services
- No authentication providers
The only external interaction occurs if you voluntarily tap a link within the app (e.g., visiting our website, sending feedback via email, or rating the app on the App Store). These actions open your device's browser or mail app and are governed by those apps' respective privacy policies.
6. Data Security
Your data is protected by the security measures built into iOS:
- App Sandboxing: iOS restricts each app to its own storage area, preventing other apps from accessing Nomu's data
- Device Encryption: When your device is locked, your data is encrypted by iOS's built-in full-disk encryption
- No Network Exposure: Since Nomu never transmits data, there is no risk of data interception during transit
7. Your Rights
Because all data is stored locally on your device and we have no access to it, you have complete control:
- Access: All your data is visible within the app at any time
- Deletion: Uninstalling Nomu permanently deletes all associated data from your device
- Portability: Since we don't hold any of your data, there is nothing to request from us
Simple deletion: To remove all Nomu data, simply uninstall the app. That's it. There are no accounts to delete, no servers to contact, and no residual data left behind.
8. Children's Privacy
Nomu is suitable for users of all ages. Since we do not collect any personal information whatsoever, there is no risk of collecting data from children.
Parents can feel confident that Nomu does not track, profile, or collect any information about their children.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements.
If we ever change our data practices (for example, if a future version of Nomu introduces optional cloud features), we will update this policy and clearly communicate any changes through the app before they take effect.
Your continued use of Nomu after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
