Sanātana is operated by Tappect and available on Android and iOS platforms. This policy applies to all users of the Sanātana application.

Sanātana requests microphone permission (android.permission.RECORD_AUDIO) for the following purpose:
- Speech-to-Text Input: We use your device's microphone to enable voice input for spiritual queries and questions
- Audio is processed locally on your device and sent to our AI service only for transcription
- We do not record, store, or share your audio data beyond the immediate transcription request
- You can deny microphone permission and still use the app with text-only input
2.3 Usage and Activity Data
We collect information about your interaction with the app:
- Spiritual practices and rituals you track (mantras, meditations, vrats)
- Gyan Path (knowledge path) progress and notes
- Diya offerings and fuel system usage
- Custom dashboard configurations and preferences
- Saints and teachings you follow
- Daily verse and panchang widget interactions
- Notification preferences and settings
2.4 Device Information
We automatically collect technical information:
- Device type, model, and operating system version
- App version and unique app instance identifier
- Language and timezone settings
- Network connection type
2.5 Audio Playback Data
We track which mantras, bhajans, and audio teachings you listen to for personalization and recommendations.

We use the collected information to:
- Provide Core Features: Enable account creation, authentication, and personalized spiritual content

- Provide AI-Powered Guidance: Process your questions through Google Generative AI to provide spiritual insights
- Enable Social Features: Allow sharing of content with friends and family
We will never sell your personal information or spiritual practice data to third parties.

- Supabase: Backend infrastructure for authentication, database storage, and real-time features

Audio Data Security: Microphone recordings are processed in real-time and are not permanently stored on our servers. Voice data is only transmitted during active speech-to-text requests.

7. Data Retention

- Spiritual Practice Data: Retained indefinitely to preserve your spiritual journey, unless you delete your account

- Usage Analytics: Aggregated and anonymized data may be retained for up to 2 years
- Deleted Account Data: Removed from active systems within 30 days; backup copies deleted within 90 days
8. Children's Privacy
Sanātana is suitable for users of all ages, including children under 13. However, we require parental consent for users under 13 years old.

9. International Data Transfers
Your information may be stored and processed in servers located in different countries, including the United States. By using Sanātana, you consent to the transfer of your data to these locations.
