1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading or using Meanwhile ("the App"), made by Tappect ("we", "us"), you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2. Who Can Use Meanwhile
You must be at least 18 years old. By using the App you confirm that you are 18 or over and that the people you pair with are too.
3. The Service
Meanwhile lets two people who have paired with a code share a photo or note each hour, see each other's day on a widget and in the app, and turn a day into a short reel. There is no public feed and no followers. Photos are end-to-end encrypted and delivered through our servers, then deleted from them, as described in the Privacy Policy.
4. Community Rules
Meanwhile is for everyday moments between people who chose each other. You agree not to use it to send:
- Nudity or sexual content
- Any sexual or exploitative content involving a minor, of any kind. We report it to the authorities.
- Harassment, threats, hate, or content meant to hurt or intimidate
- Photos of other people who have not agreed to be shared, where they have a reasonable expectation of privacy
- Anything illegal, or that infringes someone else's rights
You can end a pairing at any time, which stops that person from sending you anything, and report content from the End pairing screen or by emailing support@tappect.com. We may stop the App from working for anyone who breaks these rules.
5. Your Content
You own the photos, notes and reels you create. You give us only the permission we need to encrypt, relay and store them as the App is designed to, and nothing more. Because they are end-to-end encrypted, we cannot view them. You are responsible for what you send and for having the right to send it. Photos you send are kept on the other person's phone; reels you share outside the App are subject to the rules of the service you share them to.
6. Subscriptions
Meanwhile Pro is available as a weekly or yearly subscription through the App Store or Google Play. One subscription covers you and up to three people you are paired with. Prices are shown in the App before you buy.
- If a free trial is offered, you are charged when it ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Manage or cancel in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Deleting the App or your Meanwhile data does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies.
- If a pairing ends, the person who did not pay keeps every memory already on their phone but needs their own plan for new days.
We may offer free periods at our discretion, such as a free first week at launch. A free period does not require a payment method and does not turn into a paid plan on its own.
7. Intellectual Property
The App, its design, mascot, stickers and reel templates belong to Tappect. You may share reels made with the App, including the Meanwhile end card, for personal use.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided "as is". Delivery of photos depends on your network and your partner's phone, and we do not guarantee that every photo, notification or backup will arrive or be recoverable. Keep copies of reels that matter to you.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Tappect is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the App. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the App in the twelve months before the claim.
10. App Store and Play Store Terms
If you downloaded the App from the Apple App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies, and Apple is not responsible for the App or its support. If you downloaded it from Google Play, Google Play's terms also apply.
11. Ending Use
You can stop using Meanwhile at any time by deleting your account in Settings and uninstalling the App. We may suspend the App for anyone who breaks these terms.
12. Changes and Governing Law
We may update these terms and will change the date above when we do. These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules.
